𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 VVSEAI 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺: Darsa Jhanwar

We're excited to share our "𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 VVSEAI 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺" series to introduce the wonderful, multi-faceted talent we have in the Vertex Ventures SEA & India! For the month of March, we would like to introduce our colleague Darsa Jhanwar based in India.

1.What did you do before Vertex and what did you study?

I started my career in Investment Banking at Avendus Capital, a leading Indian boutique financial services firm. At Avendus, I focused on the Healthcare space in India, working on two live transactions in the single-specialty and hospitals segment.

Before Avendus, I studied Economics at the Shri Ram College of Commerce. Alongside academics, I actively pursued internships and took on leadership responsibilities across student clubs. These experiences gave me early exposure to navigating complex real-world challenges, honed my communication skills, and built a solid foundation in business fundamentals.

2. What is one thing you most enjoy about working at Vertex?

What I enjoy most about working at Vertex is the kind of exposure I get—whether it’s across different sectors or while working closely with founders. The team is supportive, sharp, and always open to sharing thoughts, which makes it a great place to learn. I also really value the ownership we’re given early on—it keeps things exciting and pushes me to think independently and take responsibility for my work.

3. Tell us something we didn't know that you do outside of work.

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new food places and coffee shops—especially the quieter, lesser-known ones. I’ve also started taking a liking to traveling to more offbeat, peaceful locations as a way to disconnect and recharge. When I get the chance, I like trying out adventure sports too. It’s a nice contrast to the usual pace of work and helps keep things balanced.
