Vertex Female Founder Series | Roshni Mahtani Cheung: Mother of One, Mother to All
For Roshni Mahtani Cheung, entrepreneurship has always been her lifelong ambition – she made her first trade on the stock market at aged 9 and resold whiskey to her unsuspecting uncles at aged 12! While entrepreneurship was in her blood and journalism may be her academic training, her interest/passion for parenting wasn’t developed until after her graduation, when Roshni worked as a part-time babysitter in New York. In a way, the genesis of The ParentInc began with the simple question she received as a babysitter: can babies eat durian?
Besides being the founder and CEO of The ParentInc – a mediatech company focused on parenting and pregnancies that currently boasts more than 35 million monthly users, Roshni is also an active mentor of female founders, an executive producer of a documentary, and advisor to various entrepreneurial networks. We interviewed Roshni to learn more about her as a person, her entrepreneurial journey, and motivations.
In a continuation of our International Women’s Day 2022, and part of our monthly Vertex Female Founder Series, we are sharing beautiful, untold stories of our female founders overcoming the odds and obstacles to build businesses that are disruptive, yet transformative to the lives of many. Today we are proud to feature Roshni Mahtani Cheung.
